The Night Watch

A(R)MOUR
Galatea and the Pygmalions
Pygmalion, the Cretan king, sculpted a female figure Galatea that
he brought to life by kissing an expression of  the ancient/modern state formulating itself in its own narcissism.
Today our Pygmalions of state are data and electronic circuit boards: the new bodies in proliferation. Our armour and survival depends upon a skin of micro circuitry, an externalised skin through which information and light passes. Individuals held together in a fragmented sect-uralised world.
Or as Galatea we can choose to find a new body/meaning by upending this mirrored world of data through a woven surface that flows in and out. Consciousness and its backside are
brought together. What was up is now down, what was in is now out; a frameless
frame. Creating other meaning, but one that is empowering, not subjugating to the
hollow emptiness of circuitry, information and media, but uses technologies where
necessary, collaborating with other creative mediums and (un)consciousnesses to explode
possibilities and potentialities.
